A Day in My Diet
Dancing With the Stars: All Stars' newly crowned champ Melissa Rycroft is one hot mama! We were dying to know more about the radiant TV personality and her stay-sexy secrets, so we got the scoop on what she eats every day (well, almost) to keep her figure so fab. Read on to find out which eight foods (including sweets) she can't live without!
Greek Yogurt with Blueberries
"It's a huge favorite," the brunette beauty raves. "Breakfast is always really small because I'm usually on the go. And I love oatmeal with raisins or slices of apples." But when she's really in a hurry, the stunning star reaches for breakfast bars, cottage cheese, or Carnation Instant mini-meals.
"Lunch is usually pretty clean," Rycroft says. "I always love a good Cobb Salad but without the bacon and unhealthy stuff."
Rycroft orders up her turkey with light mayo, hold the mustard! "I'm lucky I never have a craving for chips and all that other bad stuff you could have with it," she says. "I don't really have a salty tooth, but I do have a sweet tooth!"
Red Velvet Cupcakes
When the sweet cravings kick in, what does the charismatic former cheerleader go for? "I love red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting—I'm pretty good at taking a bite when it's around! During the holidays I also love pumpkin bread, ginger bread… I have to be careful not to overdo it."
"My friend discovered Extra flavored gum in the mint chocolate chip and apple pie flavor while we were cheering together," Rycroft says. "It's amazing how much that will satisfy a sweet craving. It's not like you're actually eating the real thing, but it's so good!"
Grilled Chicken Breast
"For dinner we're really big chicken people. I love to make a regular chicken breast coated with Panko Crumbs," Rycroft says. "I fool myself into thinking I'm eating fried chicken! We like to BBQ and grill a ton. Fish is also big in the house."
Yogurt Covered Raisins
"I just discovered them," Rycroft says. "I give them to Ava as a snack, so I started to eat the leftovers. Now I love them for myself!"
Green Beans and Carrots
"For dinner we have to get creative because my husband doesn't eat a lot of veggies. The staple we have every day are green beans and sliced carrots—we give the same thing to our baby girl," she says. "I didn't realize how clean I actually eat until I did this interview!"
What's next for Rycroft? "Right now I'm just really focused on being back in Dallas, having family holiday time, and having a few weeks to ourselves! I had such an amazing 2012, it's going to be hard to beat, but I'm looking forward to all the amazing possibilities for next year."
