In a recent interview with New Beauty, Barrymore shared even more of her beauty favorites, including a zit-ridding remedy that won't break the bank: The Clinique Acne Solutions Clinical Clearing Gel (Buy It, $18, macys.com).

"I just spot it on any arriving friend from out of town in the form of a zit and say, 'Go back to where you came from!'" she told New Beauty. (Try this beauty detox smoothie recipe from Drew Barrymore's nutritionist.)

This also isn't the first time Barrymore has name-dropped the salicylic acid gel, either. She featured it in an installment of her "Beauty Junkie Week," in which she posts a new beauty tip or product on Instagram. "If you are like me and hate acne, this is a clear solution," she wrote. "Pun intended. I swear by this!" (Related: This $7 Witch Hazel Toner Is the #1 Best-Selling Beauty Product On Amazon Right Now)

The fragrance-, oil-, and paraben-free acne salicylic acid gel can be used all over or as a spot treatment for blemishes (including pesky blackheads) as an alternative to prescription products. It also helps prevent redness in the process. (Although, as the brand notes, it may be too drying for skin if used all over in conjunction with an acne-fighting cleanser.)

Plus, the product has fans of all ages with all stages and types of acne, according to reviews.

"I'm 38 years old and still get little bumps, blackheads, and occasionally a bigger pimple," one reviewer wrote. "Since using this product, my skin has become brighter, smoother, and noticeably clearer. I haven't had a breakout since I started using this product! I love it!!" Even those with dry or combination skin can use the product, as it won't try out your skin in the process. "I am 23 and have had severe acne issues for about seven years," wrote another reviewer. "For me, the Clinique clearing gel works very well with my skin type (oily combination). Highly recommend this for treating zits and pimples."

Seconding the fast, non-drying results, another reviewer wrote: "I literally saw results after the first application! The FIRST! And it didn't dry my skin out!!! I've had blemishes disappearing, very few new ones making an appearance, and NO FLAKES! Whaaa..!?! Unheard of, right?" (Related: 7 Surprising Acne Facts That Can Help Clear Your Skin for Good)

For just $18, this acne treatment sure does seem to live up to all the hype.
