No one was more impressed with Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's Halloween costumes this year than Hilary Duff.

The couple, who is known for serving up some serious Halloween looks (just take a peek at their Addams Family ensembles from 2018), sported costumes Sunday inspired by Duff's 2003 film, The Lizzie McGuire Movie. Jonas and Turner channeled fictional Italian pop stars, Paolo Valisari and Isabella Parigi, while actress Olivia De Jonge joined in the fun as Duff's Lizzie. Jonas, 32, and Turner, 25, later shared images of the trio on their respective Instagram pages, with the latter using the iconic line from the film, "Sing to me Paolo," as the caption. (

While Jonas and Turner had much of Hollywood losing it over their nostalgic looks, none more so than Duff, who played Lizzie McGuire on the Disney Channel series of the same name from 2001 to 2004. " IM SCREAMING 😭😭😭," responded Duff to Turner's Instagram post.

In 2003's The Lizzie McGuire Movie, Duff's beloved character jets to Italy, where she crosses paths with Paolo (Yani Gellman), who is part of a musical duo with Isabella (also played by Duff). When Isabella takes off, Paolo convinces Lizzie to take her place for a major performance. Lizzie ultimately gets to live out her pop star fantasies in Rome, where she sings "What Dreams Are Made Of," alongside Isabella.

Turner has been a Lizzie McGuire fan for some time. In early 2020, the Game of Thrones alum said she wanted to join Duff in a Lizzie McGuire reboot, which was originally announced in 2019. The project was ultimately scrapped, however, with Duff confirming in the news in December 2020.

"I've been so honored to have the character of Lizzie in my life. She has made such a lasting impact on many, including myself. To see the fans' loyalty and love for her, to this day, means so much to me. I know the efforts and conversations have been everywhere trying to make a reboot work but, sadly & despite everyone's best efforts, it isn't going to happen," wrote Duff on Instagram at the time. "I want any reboot of Lizzie to be honest and authentic to who Lizzie would be today. It's what the character deserves. We can tall take a moment to mourn the amazing woman she would have been and the adventures we would have taken with her."

Although a Lizzie McGuire revival isn't moving forward, Duff will be gracing TV screens again soon. Earlier this year, it was announced that she would star in the upcoming sitcom, How I Met Your Father, an update from the CBS series, How I Met Your Father, according to The Hollywood Reporter. More Duff, yes please!
