It hasn't been long since Kim Kardashian found herself in hot water for launching a shapewear line called Kimono.

Fans were quick to call out the reality star for cultural appropriation since a Kimono is actually a traditional Japanese garment that has nothing to do with shapewear whatsoever. But using the name 'Kimono' was more than just a fun wordplay on Kardashian's name.

She also tried to trademark it. According to the Los Angeles Times, Kimono, Kimono Body, Kimono Intimates, and Kimono World were a few of the trademarks filed by Kardashian and were waiting for review before fans took serious issue. (Related: The Pros and Cons of Spanx and Other Shapewear)

Kardashian's Instagram promoting her shapewear line became flooded with comments like, "My culture is not your plaything,” or "My culture is not your brand name generator.” People also started sharing pictures of themselves in actual kimonos to remind the world where the name actually originates from. Even the mayor of Kyoto, Japan, Daisaku Kadokawa, wrote a letter urging Kardashian to reconsider the name.

Thankfully, Kardashian was quick to respond to the backlash and shared a heartfelt apology to Twitter before deciding to go in a completely different direction with the brand's name.

Enter: SKIMS Solutionwear. On Monday, the reality star took to social media and revealed the brand's name change which was a direct result of that scrutiny.

"My fans and followers are a huge inspiration to me," she wrote on Twitter. "I'm always listening to their feedback and opinions, and am so grateful they shared their ideas for a new brand name. After much thought and consideration, I'm excited to announce the launch of SKIMS Solutionwear."

Apart from the name change, everything about the line will remain the same. The collection will range in sizes XXS to 4XL, with some styles going to 5XL. It will also be available in nine shades and include items such as a Solution Short with one leg shorter than the other—designed for garments with thigh-high slits.

"I love the idea that the pieces will be the closest thing to someone’s skin, skimming with amazingly soft and supportive fabrics which accentuate the best parts of our bodies," Kardashian wrote on Instagram.

So far, the way Kardashian has handled the situation and the name change has been received well by fans. "I love that Kim actually listens and adjusts rather than getting rude and defensive when it comes to her products," one fan shared. "I am really proud that you took the feedback to heart and changed your brand name instead of doubling down," said another.

Several of Kardashian's friends couldn't contain their excitement either. "Perfect name! Can’t wait to rock these pieces," wrote model Candice Huffine on Instagram."I can't wait to try these," said Ashley Graham on IG as well.

While prices and the exact pieces have not been revealed just yet, Kardashian shared that SKIMS Solutionwear will be available for purchase starting September 10.
