"IDK who needs to hear this but…WEAR A BIKINI IF YOU WANT TO WEAR A BIKINI," she wrote in an Instagram post, alongside two glorious photos of herself in a high-waist bikini. She also shared a story about how she learned this valuable lesson herself. "My very best friend in the world, Jocelyn, is from Hawaii," she said in a video in the second part of her post. "And I would go and visit her when I was in college. What I was struck about Hawaii is that everybody wears bikinis. It does not matter what your body type is. You rock a bikini. Because you're in Hawaii. And there's so much body positivity there that I, who was always really shy about my body, would wear bikinis." She went on to say that she prefers "high-bottom" bikinis because they flatter her body best and encouraged her followers to tag her in their own bikini selfies if they felt inspired. It comes as no surprise that Kaling's message resonated with women everywhere. "Thank you to @mindykaling for reminding people that there's no need to fit into the molds that society has made for us," one woman wrote. "Remember, all bodies are bikini bodies! WEAR WHAT MAKES YOU HAPPY." "Bikini bod tips: have a body and wear a bikini," another woman shared. "Thanks, @mindykaling for instilling some confidence and awareness for body positivity and celebrating all types of bodies." Was this page helpful? Thanks for your feedback! Tell us why! Other Submit
