"I am blessed."

Shannen Doherty, the self-crowned #cancerslayer, has some great news to share. The actress, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2015, recently took to Instagram letting fans know that she's finally in remission.

"Moments. They happen. Today was and is a moment," the 46-year-old wrote. "What does remission mean? I heard that word and have no idea how to react. Good news? YES. Overwhelming. YES. Now more waiting."

Throughout her battle with cancer, Doherty has remained overwhelmingly positive and headstrong, often sharing intimate moments of her heartbreaking journey on social media. But even though she's finally recovering, she's aware that her fight isn't over yet.

"As every single one of my fellow cancer family knows, the next five years is crucial," she said. "Reoccurrences happen all the time. Many of you have shared that very story with me. So with a heart that is certainly lighter, I wait."

Moving forward, Doherty will face several challenges, whether that be reconstruction surgery or new treatments with side effects. (More: 6 Things You Don't Know About Breast Cancer)

That said, she is incredibly grateful for how far she's come and isn't afraid to show it. "I am blessed, I know that," she said. "But for now...I'm going to just breathe."
