The Kardashian's tips for eating healthy at three major chains are pretty legit and totally doable.
It's safe to say that Khloé Kardashian is seriously committed to health and wellness. From her insane fitness closet to totally badass workouts, she definitely takes staying in shape to the next level. And though she tries to keep it healthy all the time, sometimes life gets in the way, according to a new post on her app.
In the post, Khloé gets real about the fact that sometimes things get busy and you need to eat fast food. "Even though clean eating is my M.O., sometimes I find myself in situations where there just isn't an avocado smoothie or quinoa salad on the menu. I'm looking at you, desert road trips and never-ending airport delays!" she says. Sound familiar? Here's her best advice on how to deal when you want to eat healthy at a fast-food spot. McDonald's: Low-Cal, High Protein Sandwich
With just 380 calories and 37 grams of protein, Khloé's go-to, the McDonald's Artisan Grilled Chicken Sandwich, is actually a pretty great choice. "Keep your portion control in check at Mickey D's, and you'll have half the battle won," Khloé advises. "Skip the fries and soda, and most def do NOT supersize it!" Solid advice no matter where you are.
Taco Bell: Lean Clean Tacos
There are a ton of tempting treats at Taco Bell, but Khloé's usual order sounds pretty delicious to us: two Fresco Soft Tacos with shredded chicken, cheddar cheese, shredded lettuce, and pico de gallo. "The boss move here is to order from the Fresco menu," she says. "All the items are flavored with super-flavorful low-calorie, fat-free pico de gallo. In general, steer clear of anything smothered, supreme, wrapped in a Dorito, or XXL-sized and you'll be just fine!"
KFC: No Fried Stuff
FYI, Kentucky Fried Chicken does serve chicken that's not fried. Who knew? Here, Khloé opts for the Kentucky Grilled Chicken Breast with Sweet Kernel Corn and Green Beans as sides. "Grilled chicken is your friend at KFC. The fried options literally add hundreds of calories to the same serving size!" Khloé points out. "This combo is high in lean protein and even provides vitamins A, C, and E from the veggie sides. I promise it's still 'finger-lickin' good'—and at just 310 calories you won't break the bank!"
Of course, Khloé does let herself have a cheat day every now and then, as evidenced by an Instagram post showing her with sister Kourtney on a private plane chowing down on something from Popeyes that does *not* look like a grilled chicken breast. (Side note: How do we get that life?)
It's all about balance, but if you don't want to go off the rails just because you're stuck in a situation where fast food is the only option, we'd say Khloé's picks are pretty perfect.
