If scrolling through Instagram for hours on end is your go-to source of entertainment, there's no doubt you follow @girlwithnojob (Claudia Oshry) and @boywithnojob (Ben Soffer), some of the best meme hilarity out there on the interwebs. Well, we convinced them to try all the ~trendiest~ workouts out there in the fitnessphere and let us film them doing it. Despite being über busy with their non-jobs, they agreed. And thus, the Funemployment series was born.
First up is Face Love Fitness, a.k.a. the hardest workout you've ever done without breaking a sweat. The gist: it's a workout for your face, including 15+ minutes of laying back in a lounge chair, while people massage and manipulate your face. You'll make some seriously wacky faces with the help of some normal workout tools (a Pilates ring) and some unusual ones (a massager that's essentially a foam roller for your skin). After all, there are 57 muscles in your face. Might as well put them to good use, right?
According to the founders of Face Love (esthetician Rachel Lang and massage therapist Heidi Frederick), there might actually be some benefits. They say that massage increases circulation, which nourishes the skin with essential nutrients and oxygen. Plus, the muscle exercises strengthen the fiber of your skin's connective tissues, increasing elasticity, and firmness. The idea is that working your face muscles might tighten your face the way squats tighten your booty. (Basically, it's the ultimate in product- and surgery-free anti-aging.)
One of our editors tried Face Love, but we really wanted to see how Claudia and Ben would handle it. Let's just say that their noises reminded us of our tennis vs. porn video, and there was a moment of "We want balls! We want balls!" chanting happening. What are you waiting for?
