This week ABC revealed the Dancing with the Stars 2011 cast and SHAPE readers were quick to weigh in on who would win. Days after the DWTS announcement, Aretha Franklin shared her weight loss success story with newly named DWTS cast member Wendy Williams (see Franklin’s amazing weight loss before and after picture here). On a sad note, Heart Attack Grill spokesman Blair River's died at age 29. While the cause of death is yet to be determined the 575-pound spokesman’s love of the notoriously unhealthy restaurant may have been a factor.
For those who want to live healthier, new research suggests that it may be beneficial to your health to ease up and not berate yourself over weight gain and self-indulgence. That doesn’t mean you should lighten up on the exercise; another new study shows that exercise may prevent the signs of aging. Unfortunately, exercise can’t protect against all health issues. Super-fit tennis star Serena William’s was treated for a pulmonary embolism and a blood clot in her lungs this week. Currently she is recovering at home.
