St. Patrick's Day may be best known for its Irish drinks and eats, but in cities across the country this holiday is being celebrated in a new and healthier way: with a running race!

Although many shamrock runs were held the weekend before St. Patrick's Day, there are still a number of races yet to be held. Check out the list below for some of our favorite fun shamrock 5Ks and marathons!

3 Shamrock Races Worth Running

1. The Yuengling Shamrock Marathon in Virginia Beach, Va. With the option to run an 8K, half marathon and full marathon, runners of all distances can enjoy this party of a race. All finishers even get a fun shamrock-themed medal!

2. St. Paddy's 5K Run/Walk, 8K Run and Leprechaun Leap in Chicago. Runners of this race can look forward to live music, prizes and Guinness at the finish line. Need we say more?

3. 38th Annual Al Kayner St. Patrick's Day Race presented by the Bay Area Runner's Club in Bay City, Mich. Complete with a 5K run, 5K walk, a Leprechaun Race for the little ones and a costume contest, this run will definitely get you in the St. Patrick's Day spirit!

And the best part of running one of these? Afterwards you can celebrate your big accomplishment with a guilt-free mug of green beer!
