Jessica Simpson Debuts New Collection of Workout Clothes

The singer turned fashion entrepreneur just launched her affordable athleisure line, The Warm Up, at Macy's

While 2015 has been dubbed the year of the booty (thanks, J.Lo!) as well the Year of the Female Athlete, it's also been a year for celebrity fitness collections. Following in the impressive footsteps of Kate Hudson and Carrie Underwood is Jessica Simpson-this month, the singer is expanding her fashion brand to include activewear. (Psst... Beyonce Just Announced The Release Date of Her Athleisure Line for Topshop too.)

Her activewear line, called The Warm Up, is described as "a true performance collection but a balance of fashion and function," and is made with Extraordin-Air fabric to allow for softness and breathability. Basically, the definition of athleisure-which Has Been Officially Added to the Dictionary, ICYMI. The line, available at Macy's, includes leggings, sports bras, and track jackets-and many pieces in the collection will also be available in plus sizes up to 3X. While the pieces are basic, the prints and colors make them stand out- think bright butterfly patterns and silver-toned leopard print combined with neon and black, for mix-and-match outfits you can tailor to your individual style. The line is affordable too, with pieces ranging between $24 and $49.

"As with everything we do [with the JS collection], we want women to feel good in their skin and what they're wearing," Simpson told E! News. "Our busy lifestyles can take us from the gym to errands or out to lunch, so the styles have to be cute and versatile, but entirely functional for your workouts. It's how women are dressing today."

And Simpson certainly looks the part in the promo images for The Warm Up. She told E! that she stays in shape by "walking three miles a day. Eric [Johnson, her husband] and I love taking the kids out for long walks in the neighborhood. Chasing them around our yard is a work out all its own." It's hard to believe she sculpted that killer body with just walking, until Simpson admits she does squats, uphill lunges, and resistance exercises with bands, kettlebells, and a BOSU to keep herself toned and lean.

If the quality is as good as the price (and considering the success of Simpson's previous collection, it probably is), we say this is one more thing to add to your holiday shopping list.
