It seems like everyone and their mom is in the athleisure game now. From Forever 21 to Tory Burch, every type of retailer (budget to brand-name) is capitalizing on the fitness craze by releasing their own activewear collection. (This means more options, but also falling prices. Score.)
More high-end brands are getting in on it too—some by partnering up with established activewear brands to launch extra-special collections (like Adidas x Stella McCartney and Beyond Yoga x Kate Spade). But the latest collab is one we never saw coming; New Balance x J. Crew. Why? Well for years, J. Crew execs insisted that it wasn't in their plan, according to the Cut. Now that they've finally hopped on the bandwagon—or, well, the treadmill—with New Balance, preppy fitness fans couldn't be more excited. The end result: a collection that's super chic, but athletic enough that you'll only feel a little guilty sweating in it. (Something you might not want to sweat in: leather workout leggings. Yikes.)
As two iconic brands and powerhouses in their own niches, New Balance and J. Crew make perfect partners; they've combined their two looks to create activewear loaded with stripes, polka dots, and color blocking. The collection features pieces in deep navy, soft white, bright yellow, pastel pink, and poppy orange. Long story short: It's classic J.Crew, just in sweat-wicking spandex.
Scroll through the looks below and then get your wallet ready, because the J. Crew x New Balance collection officially launches on October 11. (Or if tough-girl is more your gym style, peep through this camo workout wear instead.)
