True shopping experts know that Black Friday and Cyber Monday are for gift giving, but post-holiday sales are all about treating yourself. Unless an item is likely to sell out, I refuse to buy it before December 25. That's because most items are even cheaper in end-of-year sales as retailers make way for fresh stock in the New Year — or try to clear out holiday sets that are past their prime, like advent calenders.

In fact, I'll even request gift cards over a wishlist item for Christmas, so I can snag more goods for the same amount of money. (The shopping mindset never sleeps!) This year my love of a good deal led me to Nordstrom's Half-Yearly Sale. The semi-annual event currently has markdowns on more than 32,000 items with savings up to 50 percent (and even an extra 25 percent off clearance items). And because it's Nordies, the sale includes so many popular name brands including Nike, Sweaty Betty, and even Alo Yoga. (BTW, there's also a really good vibrator sale happening right now.)

Personally, I'm using the sales event as an opportunity to upgrade my workout wardrobe ahead of the New Year. While I'm not a fan of resolutions, I know the power of wearing a new workout set into the gym (or as my work-from-home uniform), whether it's January or June. It's trendy and low-cut but still provides enough support for medium-impact workouts, like barre or HIIT. Plus, the thick jersey fabric smooths without feeling too compressive — and shoppers raved they've never taken the tag off so quick.

Sweaty Betty Power Pocket Workout Leggings

I'm a huge Sweaty Betty fan and often recommend the Jennifer Aniston-approved brand to anyone searching for the perfect pair of leggings. While I consider the high-waisted style well-worth the price, I'm never opposed to a good bargain.
