Outdoor Voices Launched Their First Running Collection—and You Have to Literally Run to Get It
You can score your favorite pieces today—including a sneaker collab with HOKA—through the brand's augmented reality experience, OV Trail Shop.
You know and love Outdoor Voices for their comfy, color-blocked leggings that are perfect for yoga. Now the brand is stepping up their performance game just in time for spring race training. Today marks the launch of their first technical capsule collection and it's a must-have for marathoners and recreational runners alike.
The collection includes the basics: shorts, a t-shirt, tank, sports bra, and even a skort-but it's not-so-basic in its design or performance. The materials are lightweight, moisture-wicking, and super-stretchy so you can stay comfy and dry even on long runs. The shorts and skort are new-and-improved versions of the brand's existing shorts, and feature bonus features specifically requested by real runners and customers, like a hip pocket for your phone, headphone opening, and reflective strips for logging miles after sundown. Best of all, it comes in pretty pastels perfect for spring, so it doesn't *look* like any of the practical, boring black running gear you already have. To complete the collection, they teamed up with HOKA to bring the OV aesthetic to the HOKA Clifton 4 running shoe, a lightweight yet supportive design that you can now score in the brand's signature navy, pastel green, or blush. (Related: The Best New Running Sneakers for Logging Spring Miles)
The collection officially launches today, but for the first 24 hours, the only way to actually shop it is to run to the nearest virtual store (available in 22 cities). Here's how it works: If you have an iPhone, download the OV Trail Shop app-an augmented reality shopping experience the brand first unveiled at SXSW-then run to one of the 50 favorite locations that the brand has pre-selected. (Think: parks and waterfront spots that are perfect for running and Instagramming.)
From there, you can explore the collection using augmented reality that shows every seam and texture. If the impulse hits you, check out right from the app using Apple Pay-plus score free overnight shipping (today only).
If you're too busy #doingotherthings, the good news is that the full collection will be available to shop online and in stores starting April 25.
