Photo: Getty Images / Courtesy of Merchant Britney Spears is no stranger to wearing comfy sneakers for workouts — but in a recent Instagram post, the pop star proved that a good pair of kicks can take you well beyond the gym. Spears posted a series of photos posing on an electric bike with her family's newest fur child, Porsha. The recent four-legged addition almost stole the show (hello, pup!), but it was Spears' vibrant sneaker selection that warranted a double take. She rounded out her casual cropped white t-shirt and pastel tie dye shorts with a pair of Hoka One One Bondi 7 Running Shoes (Buy It, $160, nordstrom.com). But the '90s legend is no stranger to this podiatrist-approved brand. She's been spotted in another style of the cushy shoes, the Hoka One One Clifton (Buy It, $140, nordstrom.com), plenty of times over the years. She wore them for a 2017 training session in Hong Kong and during an at-home workout in 2018, but it appears she's shaking things up for 2022 with a new Hoka favorite. Spears' new selection is slightly more expensive than her former go-to, but it all comes down to the design. The Bondi 7 is developed for long-distance running, so it has a more rigid frame with plenty of stability and arch support. The style's signature element is its Meta-Rocker technology, which helps propel the heel to toe transition for a smoother step — a difference you'll feel in your stride. (FYI, podiatrists say these are the best running shoes.) The Bondi 7 is still packed with foam cushioning, though — in fact, it offers the most of any style in Hoka's road-running line, according to the brand. Yet the shoe maintains its durability with a rubber outsole and chunkier build that promises not to break down too quickly when you're logging miles. Nordstrom reviewers say they've worn it for everything from high-intensity interval training to walking, adding that it's the perfect combo of firmness and cushioning for those in need of extra support. Better yet, a handful of shoppers compared the kicks to "walking on clouds." Of course, there are plenty of runners among the 3,000 people who gave the Bondi 7 a five-star rating at Nordstrom. Not only does the shoe work for sidewalk or treadmill runs, but it's also worked for those with foot health concerns like plantar fasciitis or bunions. (BTW, here's what causes bunions.) "These shoes are a game changer," a shopper raved. "The comfort and the cushioning is the best I've ever experienced. I beat up my body training for marathons and Iron Man triathlon events over the years. Now at 55, I've had to step back due to painful bursitis in my hips. I thought that I'd never run again. I'm back to running, although shorter distances, and don't have any hip soreness with these shoes." Ready to give your shoes a Brit-worthy upgrade for 2022?
