Lululemon Is Breaking Into the Shoe Market
The apparel company can now deck you out in gear from head to toe thanks to a new partnership with trendy performance sneaker brand APL.
Ladies, it's time to get your credit cards out: Lululemon, the brand you know and love for their perfect sports bras and naked-feeling leggings (seriously, it's like they're barely there), is officially here to love up on your feet. For the first time, the company is expanding into shoes, thanks to a new partnership with Athletic Propulsion Labs footwear (APL).
It's the first time the apparel company has been able to offer a full technical outfit from head to toe. Founded in 2009, APL shoes are designed with Propelium technology, providing performance, comfort, cushioning, and support that helps you get the most wear out of your kicks. Details like four-way stretch help your feet feel comfy longer throughout a workout, and 3D grid patterns provide support where it's needed most. And you don't need to reserve them for just one workout style-while Lululemon is well-known for providing outfits in yoga and running, the collaboration with APL is helping them branch out even further, providing sneakers in running and training styles for women, along with running, training, and basketball styles for men.
The shoes are super stylish, with colors ranging from white and rose gold (naturally) to navy, black, and heather grey. And with a pair averaging about $150, well, nobody will judge if you nab more than one. (Did you know that Lululemon also has a specialty beer?)
There's just one downside: The shoes are only available in select in-store Lululemon locations across the U.S. Still, they're in a lot of major metropolis areas-New York City, Miami, Nashville, Detroit, San Francisco, Denver, and Scottsdale, to name a few-so it's likely you'll be able to nab a pair (along with your fave new workout outfit) without too much trouble. And if you still can't find what you're looking for, there's always the option to purchase the shoes on APL's website.
