Tyson Foods Recalls 75,000 Pounds of Chicken Nuggets
Anyone know how many calories are in plastic? Poultry giant Tyson will have harder questions to answer than that thanks to a sneaky new ingredient showing up in some of their nuggets: tiny pieces of plastic.
After reports of "minor oral injuries" (and of the gross-out factor), Tyson announced it is recalling more than 75,000 pounds of chicken nuggets. The problem was traced to a product scraper ending up inside a blending machine where the scraper became an unintentional part of the product itself.
The company says you should be cautious if you shop at Sam's Club, as the recall is specifically for five-pound bags of Tyson Fully Cooked White Meat Chicken Nuggets with a "best if used by" date of Jan. 26, 2015 or Feb. 16, 2015. The bags were sold at the warehouse chain all over the country.
