Yesterday's American Ninja Warrior episode did not disappoint. Story of the Year's lead guitarist, Ryan Phillips competed, and Jessie Graff made a successful return after taking a break to be a stuntperson for Wonder Woman. But the best moment by far was when Sandy Zimmerman, a 42-year-old gym teacher from Washington, became the first mom to ever complete the obstacle course. "I wanna hit that buzzer for all of the moms out there, not just for me, but I feel like it's a 'we,'" she said before her successful run. "We so often put everything for us on the backburner."

Zimmerman made a brutal set of obstacles look easy. Once she got to the final obstacle, the warped wall, she scaled it on her second try (everyone gets three tries on the wall) and stopped to flex for her fans before hitting the buzzer and making history. If you're unfamiliar with ANW, the courses are designed to be extremely tough, even for the talented people who make it to the show. And each course gets increasingly challenging as the season goes on. (Last night's episode was a city qualifier for the Seattle-Tacoma area.) Only one person, Isaac Caldiero, has ever won American Ninja Warrior by making it through the final round. (Related: This Obstacle Course-Style Workout Can Help You Train for Any Event)

So yeah, it was a BFD that Zimmerman completed the course, especially because she'd never made it past her second obstacle on previous attempts. At the same time, it's not too shocking given her athletic history. In addition to being one of the most badass gym teachers of our time, Zimmerman is a judo champion and former basketball player for Gonzaga University. She's a mom of three, and two of her kids, Brett and Lindsey, have competed on American Ninja Warrior Junior. Talk about #MomGoals.
