I just got back from a trip to Paris. It was amazing: I ate a ton of fabulous food and spent my days strolling from one café and shoe store to the next. But when I returned home, I realized there was a downside to having such a good time. I was up two pounds and could barely make it through my usual run—my legs were aching, my lungs were burning, and every step felt like torture. Happily, after a few days of being extra-careful with my diet and exercise routine, I'm back down to my pre-France weight. I decided that the next time I take some time away from work, I won't let it turn into a vacation from being healthy.
