The Best Way to Save Leftover Smoothie
We love the idea of making large-batch servings of our favorite smoothies or juices to save time in the morning, but how do you store it so that it doesn't go bad before you have a chance to enjoy the whole thing?
Nutrition and wellness coach Elizabeth Rider has a couple of neat kitchen hacks to help you out. Scroll below for her top tips and then tell us: How do you store your smoothie recipes? Let us know in the comments or tweet us @Shape_Magazine!
1. Store your smoothie in an airtight container. Rider recommends filling the container to the very top to prevent air from being trapped in the container. (Air will oxidize the nutrients in your smoothie, thus degrading its nutrients.)
2. Seal your container tightly. Store in the refrigerator. As a bonus, Rider says adding lemon or lime juice to your smoothie will boost the vitamin C content and also help prevent oxidation.
