Rumors that Mayochup might be making its way to the U.S. first sparked last year when Twitter users noted that it was already available in the Middle East.
Subsequently, Heinz issued a poll to gauge America's true interest. Unsurprisingly, 500,000 fans voted that there was definitely a special place in their pantries for the condiment mashup. (Related: 10 DIY Condiments That Beat Store-Bought Any Day)
While Heinz has officially confirmed that Mayochup will be making its debut in the U.S. soon, they're casting yet another vote to see which city will get to experience it first. Who's in the running? Culver City, CA, Chicago, and Brooklyn, NY. Whoever wins will get treated to a "food truck takeover," aka free french fries and Mayochup, before the new product goes national.
And for all you peeps who don't live in any of the spots mentioned above, fret not. The condiment will be available nationwide in just a couple of weeks starting with Amazon and Walmart.
What a time to be alive.
