Starbucks Just Launched a New Fall Drink That Might Overthrow the Pumpkin Spiced Latte
It, too, tastes like autumn in a cup.
Major news for Starbucks fans today! This morning, the coffee giant will be debuting a new fall drink that might replace your irrevocable love for pumpkin spiced lattes-if that's even possible.
The maple pecan latte, AKA the MPL (of course), the new beverage is made with espresso and steamed milk, paired with hints of maple syrup, pecan, and brown butter. Sign. Us. Up.
"The flavors of maple and pecan perfectly balance the inherent sweet and nutty flavors of espresso," said Debbie Antonio, who's from Starbucks Beverage Research and Development team, in a statement. (Related: Starbucks is Testing Out a Brand New Lunch Menu-and We're Here for It)
There is no nutritional information available on this item just yet, but considering it's similarities to the PSL (and the maple syrup), it's safe to assume it's probably high on sugar and calories. So it's probably not something you should be grabbing every day but rather a treat from time to time. And you're better off following these tricks for slimming down your coffee order. In addition to introducing the maple pecan latte, Starbucks also announced the launch of limited-edition, seasonal fall cups that are so adorable and 100% Instagram-worthy.
The MPL will be available nationwide tomorrow, September 22, to mark the first day of fall, but if you're still holding on to summer and aren't ready for a hot latte, don't worry-you can also order an iced version of the new drink.
