It's called a turmeric latte and it's freaking delicious
In case you haven't heard, turmeric is having a major moment. The yellow-orange plant root has a number of health benefits, from easing inflammation to increasing circulation to protecting the heart and brain. And even better: You can whip up the spice into a warm, creamy treat on a freezing-cold day. Here's how.
What you need: One cup of milk (both dairy and non-dairy varieties work), half a teaspoon of ground turmeric, half a tablespoon of ground ginger, a quarter teaspoon of vanilla extract and maple syrup or honey to taste.
What you do: Add all the ingredients in a small saucepan and whisk until combined. Turn the heat to medium high and whisk vigorously until it begins to foam—but never allow it to boil. When the thickness is to your liking, remove from the heat and pour into a mug.
All that's left to do is grab your favorite blanket, curl up on the couch and rewatch the last season of Parks and Rec.
