There are a lot of reasons to love smoothies as your morning meal: They're a great way to pack a lot of nutrition into one glass and start the day on a healthy note. They're also usually quick to whip up, and they're perfect to grab as you're heading out the door for a busy day. (Check out these chocolate smoothies you won't believe are healthy.)

This smoothie combines fiber-rich quick rolled oats, a frozen banana, vanilla protein powder, and hemp hearts for a dose of omega fatty acids, along with your favorite oatmeal cookie flavors: cinnamon, maple syrup, and vanilla extract. Plus, this healthy oatmeal cookie smoothie is vegan and gluten-free and has no refined sugar. If you're feeling fancy, top the smoothie with a sprinkle of granola, handful of raisins, a few chopped pecans, and some extra cinnamon.

Oatmeal Cookie Smoothie


2/3 cup vanilla almond milk

1/2 frozen banana

1/3 cup dry quick rolled oats

1/2 scoop (around 15g) plant-based vanilla protein powder

1 tablespoon hemp hearts

1/2 tablespoon maple syrup

1/4 teaspoon cinnamon, plus more for sprinkling on top

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 large handfuls of ice

Your favorite granola, raisins and pecan pieces to sprinkle on top, optional


  1. Combine all ingredients except the toppings in a blender. Blend until smooth.
  2. Pour into a glass, sprinkle on your toppings, and enjoy!

Nutrition stats for smoothie (no toppings): 290 calories, 7g fat, 1g saturated fat, 37g carbs, 5g fiber, 14g sugar, 20g protein
