Baileys Launched a New Vegan, Gluten-Free Liqueur Made with Almond Milk
We have a feeling everyone who has a dietary restriction is collectively rejoicing.
Baileys is finally giving vegans a dairy-free and gluten-free alternative to the cult-favorite coffee-flavored liqueur. Understanding the growing demand for vegan options, Baileys Almande Almondmilk Liqueur will relieve vegans from having to DIY their own Irish Cream-a huge win for people with dietary restrictions. According to their website, Baileys latest addition is "made from sweet almond oil and almond essence, cane sugar and purified water with a touch of real vanilla." The company also suggests that you serve the liqueur over ice, or mixed with coconut water as a cocktail-the perfect combo to kick-off the first rooftop party of the season. A single serving of the new drink boasts the same number of calories as a five-ounce glass of wine, and its alcohol content is 4 percent lower than the original Baileys at 13 percent.
"We are excited to welcome spring with Baileys Almande, which offers the same quality and delicious flavor that people love about Baileys, but now in a dairy-free, gluten-free, and vegan option that we know many are thrilled to enjoy," said Alex Tomlin, senior vice president of Scotch Whisky and Reserve Brands at Diageo North America, in a statement.
The refreshing beverage is now available nationwide and if the coconut water-combo isn't your thing, you can find a slew of other amazing recipe ideas on Baileys' official website. We'll raise a glass to that!
