Peaches are at their best in the summer, so max out your peach quota before it's too late. These recipe ideas for every meal will inspire you.
August Is National Peach Month

Confession: When I was shopping for a summer cookout last weekend, I knocked over a handmade peach pie—and, after watching it smash into a gooey mess, I burst into tears. Sure, it wasn't just about the pie (nothing like those last-straw triggers). But if there's a fruit worth crying over, it's summer peaches.
August is National Peach Month, but you can celebrate the delicious flavor and beautiful color of this stone fruit any time.
For one, peaches provide important nutrients. One medium-size, 60-calorie peach boasts 16 percent of your daily vitamin C needs, 9 percent of your vitamin A needs, and 2 grams of fiber. Leave the skins on to reap the full benefits.
Ideally, you want to purchase organic peaches, as conventionally grown peaches are on the Environmental Working Group's Dirty Dozen list. But either way, wash them well before eating.
What else is awesome about peaches? They're incredibly versatile. Enjoy them on their own or try one of these beautiful recipes from fellow registered dietitians.
