In-Season Pick: Watermelon

Serve in a salsa

Chop and sauté 1 onion, 2 cloves of garlic, and 3 seeded jalapeño peppers. Stir in 2 tsp. chili powder, 1 tbsp. cumin, and 1 cup tomato sauce; simmer. Purée with 1 cup watermelon.

Turn into an hors d'oeuvre Cut a small seedless watermelon into 3-inch-long pieces. Place a piece of Brie on top of each strip. Wrap a slice of prosciutto around both; secure with a toothpick.

Add to a sandwich Mix 1/2 cup diced, cooked chicken with 1 tbsp. yogurt, 1/2 tbsp. cilantro, and a dash of cayenne pepper. Fill a pita with chicken salad and 2 chunks of watermelon.
