Reinventing yourself doesn't have to be a huge undertaking. Simple tweaks, many of which you can do at home can really change your look which changes how you feel. "Focus on looking and feeling gorgeous, and you'll be brimming with confidence and energy," says British celebrity life coach Cathy Dunabin. Try one or all of these simple tips for your hair, face, and body for an instant makeover. Who knows, taking small steps to change your look may give you the boost you need to truly reinvent yourself.

Instant makeover: Hair

1. Treat yourself to a blowout

Try visiting a new stylist. Everyone styles hair differently, and a blow-dry session with a different stylist will make you look like you have a whole new 'do-and boost your mood.

2. Add wash-out color to your hair

Give strands confidence-boosting flashes of color with wash-in, wash-out, shimmering hair gels. Even something as simple as an extra hint of color can really change your look.

3. Book yourself a trim

Trimming ragged edges gives hair a more defined shape and creates angles around the face. Book a trim every six to eight weeks, even if you don't want to radically change your look, it's important to remove damaged ends.

Instant makeover: Face

1. Get your brows in shape

Well-groomed brows can wipe years off your age. "The entire eye area can appear 'lifted' and more open, helping women look younger and much more polished," explains New York City-based celebrity makeup artist Ramy Gafni. Maintenance simply involves "cleaning up" brows underneath and removing only the strays on top. All you need is a mirror, tweezers and good lighting.

2. Transform your smile

"You can't underestimate how much extra-white teeth can change your look," says New York City dentist Robert I. Schwartz, D.M.D. "It's like getting an instant face-lift." We like Crest Night Effects Premium for Sensitive Teeth, which contains a hydrogen-peroxide gel that helps remove stains after 18 nights of use ($18; at drugstores). Or try Supersmile Quikee ($16; for on-the-go brightening. Just squeeze a drop from the pocket-sized tube and smooth over your teeth.

3. Rejuvenate your skin

When it comes to makeup, keep in mind that less is more. "Many women make the mistake of trying to cover up fine lines with layers of makeup; in effect, this actually makes them look older," notes New York City makeup ace Mel Rau. Instead, look for skin-perfecting products with photo-optic technology, which brightens, resurfaces and improves your skin's clarity. One favorite: Estee Lauder Prime FX Color Neutralizing Primer ($25;

Instant makeover: Body

1. Choose smooth, sexy legs

While lunges can tone your legs, the right creams can make them silky-smooth. Get results from skin firming lotions. Some contain active copper-a natural skin-firming mineral-which manufacturer studies show helps achieve firmer skin in weeks.

2. Resolve to improve your nails

Julie Serquinia, owner of Paint Shop Beverly Hills nail spa, suggests a daily massage with a moisturizing hand cream. Try a hand treatment with a mix of the ultra-moisturizers shea butter, vitamin E and soy. These ingredients help shield nails from moisture loss and pamper dry cuticles.

3. Focus on your backside

Creams will never replace exercise and diet for body contouring, but a contouring cream with caffeine (to help temporarily plump skin) and botanicals can help promote smoother skin and change your look in 28 days.
