How to Make an Anti-Aging Face Mask Out of Chocolate

We know what you've heard: chocolate makes you break out. But when you apply raw cacao to the face it can offer a ton of skin benefits.

The high levels of antioxidants in the cacao protect and repair the skin and help reduce redness and blemishes thanks to its anti-inflammatory benefits. Raw cacao also contains vitamin C, which brightens the face, evens out skin tone, limits UV damage, and increases collagen production, to name a few of the proven benefits. (Here’s how to figure out the right mask for you: How to Make the Best DIY Face Mask for Your Skin Type.)

Here's how to make it: Start with coconut oil as your base ingredient, which moisturizes and kills bacteria at the same time. Then add in raw honey, which is also antimicrobial and moisturizing. Next, add the star anti-aging ingredient—cacao powder—and mix all three together.

Apply to your face with a cotton pad, leave on for a few minutes, and rinse.
