Holiday Beauty Hacks for an Instantly Healthy Glow

Despite all the fun the holiday season brings, the most wonderful time of the year can also wreak havoc on your skin. Too many holiday cocktails, late night catch-up sessions with rarely seen friends, and extra stress can often leave telltale signs on your complexion. Fear not. We've got some easy tips for to help you shrink your pores, de-puff your undereyes, and make your skin look radiant—all with products that you probably already have at home.

Revive Tired Eyes

Puffy eyes after last night's holiday party? Brew yourself some tea! Dip caffeinated tea bags in hot water for 1-2 minutes, then place the wet tea bags in the refrigerator (preferably overnight). Take the cooled tea bags, lay them under your eyes, and watch the puffiness dissipate. As dermatologist Jeannette Graf, M.D. explains, caffeinated teas (particularly black tea) contain tannins—a substance found in many plants—which help the skin constrict. "Tea bags are preferable to cotton pads soaked in tea, since they're far more concentrated in tannins," she says.

Shrink Your Pores

Large pores can make your skin look dull and tired, but a simple, homemade toner can help. First, mix one part apple cider vinegar (1/2 cup) with two parts water (1 cup). Then, dip a cotton pad in the mixture, and swipe it over your face to shrink your pores and kill bacteria. You'll notice a difference instantly.

Highlight Your Fave Features

The hottest new beauty trend brings out all your best features, and it's easily executed with your favorite highlighter. To slim your nose, simply run a streak of highlighter down the center of your nose. To make your eyes appear bigger, brighter and more awake, dab the highlighter in the inner corner of your eyes. And if it's fuller lips you're after, apply the highlighter on your cupid's bow. Easy, right?
