Sheet masks are essential for a self-care day—but pricey. This DIY version is affordable and takes seconds.

The sheet-mask frenzy doesn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon, and we're all about the Korean beauty–inspired trend. After all, the beauty ritual helps you zen out for at least 10 minutes (try doing anything with a sheet mask on your face and you'll see why), and there's a specific sheet mask to help with pretty much every skin condition out there. Sadly, if you get in the habit of using sheet masks regularly, they can start to do some serious damage to your wallet.

Instead of shelling out 5 bucks a pop (at minimum) per individual sheet mask, make your own for a fraction of the cost. All you need to do is brew some green tea, pour it into a tray, and let a piece of rice paper soak for about a minute. Then, apply to skin and leave on for at least 10 minutes to reap the benefits.

Thanks to green tea's antioxidant properties, applying to your skin will help protect against free radicals and aging as well as help fight inflammation and bacteria, all while moisturizing, de-puffing, and soothing skin. You're welcome.
