Prosecco-Flavored Nail Polish Is the Latest Beauty Trend Taking Over the Internet
We'll raise a glass to that!
Apparently, there's a new nail trend involving prosecco-and yes, it's edible in case you're asking for a friend. Groupon debuted the alcohol-infused polish to their UK customers earlier this week, and it not only tastes and smells like this favorite bubbly beverage, its golden hue and sparkly metallic finish looks like a glass full of prosecco, tool.
"To help celebrate Mother's Day [in May], we've created the world's first edible prosecco-flavored nail polish, 'Prosecco Polish,'" the discounted e-commerce site said on their website. "Combining our love for manicures and prosecco, this nail varnish is made with real prosecco and smells and tastes just like the real thing. With a delicate gold luster, this lick-able polish looks exquisite, giving you the fun of the flavor without a sore head the next day."
That said, even though the bottle is marketed as having "zero calories," it's probably not a good idea to go guzzling this stuff. Consider the rest of its ingredients: propylene glycol, sodium saccharin, potassium aluminium silicate, and several other hard-to-pronounce chemicals. I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound very appetizing. Not to mention that it's pretty gross to be licking your fingers while touching nasty surfaces all day.
But if you're still dying to get on board this mani trend (no judgments) you won't have much luck online. In fact, Groupon will only allow you to snag a bottle if you enter their sweepstakes by clicking "buy" and filling out the rest of the guidelines. The other catch? Right now, the offer is only available to Groupon users who live in the UK. Womp. Womp.
