The next time you're feeling crusty but still want to get dolled up for an event, you can take a cue from Rosie Huntington-Whiteley. The model recently posted a video of herself preparing for the red carpet while feeling "a little bit puffy, a bit dry, exhausted" and "flat" from a recent flight (#beenthere).

With T-minus 1.5 hours until hair and makeup, Huntington-Whitely slathered Olaplex Hair Perfector No. 3 (Buy It, $28, sephora.com) on her hair. The treatment is designed to repair and strengthen damaged hair, and it's a favorite among celebs like Drew Barrymore and Khloé Kardashian, as well as thousands of Amazon customers.

Next, Huntington-Whiteley moved on to lip care since cameras on the red carpet "get in so tight, and they can see every single pore and flake of skin that you have," she said in her video. The model went with two Naturopathica picks (FYI: the brand sponsored the video): Sweet Cherry Polishing Lip Scrub (Buy It, $20, dermstore.com) and Conditioning Lip Butter (Buy It, $22, dermstore.com). The goal was to create a smooth, hydrated canvas ahead of her lipstick application later in the day, she explained. (

The Rose Inc. founder then applied not one, but two face masks. After all, if anything calls for a layered mask situation it's the red carpet, and Huntington-Whitely did not hold back. She layered Guerlain Super Aqua-Eye Patches (Buy It, $130, nordstrom.com) under a full-face sheet mask. The eye patches contain hyaluronic acid—a rock-star ingredient that hydrates and moisturizes the skin without feeling heavy or greasy—and licorice root extract, which can help to calm inflammation.

Huntington-Whiteley also revealed her trick for handling untimely pimples. First, she hydrates her skin with her double-mask strategy, then she depuffs using a face roller "to bring down any inflammation around the area," she shared. (BTW, here's everything you need to know about face rollers and their anti-aging benefits.)

From there, the model said, "it's all about a great concealer." Huntington-Whiteley has previously shouted out NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer (Buy It, $30, sephora.com), a cult classic with plenty of other celebrity fans, including Kylie Jenner and Alessandra Ambrosio. (

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley's pre-event beauty routine can be summed up as masks on masks—and TBH, it seems like a plan that would also be suited to winding down and staying in.
