Jessica Alba looked like a bombshell at the 2020 Vanity Fair Oscars after-party. Before it was time for the hairstyling and makeup that went into the look, Alba created a strong foundation by taking skin prep into her own hands. She broke down her entire "pre-glam" routine in a series of get-ready-with-me Instagram Stories.

Alba began by using several products from her own company, Honest Beauty: First, she applied the Honest Beauty Prime + Perfect Mask (Buy It, $20,, which is designed to bring stressed skin back to life with a mix of superfruit extracts. To further boost her skin, Alba used the brand's Vitamin C Radiance Serum (Buy It, $28, and Organic Beauty Facial Oil (Buy It, $28,

Alba also slathered Honest Beauty Magic Beauty Balm (Buy It, $13, "all over" her lips and eyelids, noting "the more the merrier." The all-purpose balm is also meant for cuticles, elbows, and other areas that need extra TLC, and Alba doesn't just use it for red carpet prep. She previously told us that she uses the balm to highlight the high points of her face and prevent clumps in her everyday makeup look.

The actress gave her under-eyes even more attention with Comfort Zone Sublime Skin Eye Patch (Buy It, $45, "These bad boys are my secret weapon against tired-looking eyes," Alba wrote in one of her Instagram Stories. The patches target dark circles with niacinamide and vitamin C, and they contain hexapeptides, a type of peptide that can relax facial muscles, minimizing movement that can result in wrinkles.

The eye patches weren't the only problem-solver Alba reached for in her pre-glam routine. In her Instagram Stories, the actress revealed that Lord Jones CBD Formula Body Lotion (Buy It, $60,, a lotion that provides a cooling sensation for temporary soreness relief, is her key to surviving long nights out. While there's a lot of hype around CBD products in general, Alba's not the only one who swears by Lord Jones, especially for red carpet events. The brand's popularity with celebrities like Mandy Moore and Kristen Bell inspired a "stiletto cream" for easing pain from wearing high heels. (BTW, here's how to buy the best safe and effective CBD products.)

To complete her pre-glam routine, Alba used the Conture Kinetic Skin Toning System (Buy It, $200,, calling it her "fav beauty tool that does all the things." The device suctions skin and delivers low-frequency vibrations that are said to tighten your face and neck over time.

As someone who's prepped for her fair share of red carpets and heads up a beauty company, Alba has no doubt perfected her routine. BRB while we invest in her entire lineup.
