Too Faced Is Getting Into Skin Care with the Launch of Its First Moisturizer
The coconut water–based moisturizer boasts SPF *and* pairs well under foundation.
Too Faced dipped into skin care back in 2017 with its glittery, gold-infused Glow Job mask. Since then, the company hasn't released any products that strictly fit under the skin-care umbrella, but that's about to change. The beauty brand's co-founder and chief creative officer, Jerrod Blandino, revealed that the brand is coming out with a new product: the Hangover Good to Go Skin-Protecting Moisturizer. Blandino announced the new product from-where else-a hyperbaric oxygen chamber in a series of videos on his Instagram story. "It's based on a moisturizer I've been using for nine years that I would get from a different country, and it was becoming very hard to get," he said. Since this mystery brand's moisturizer didn't quite meet his standards, he decided to develop his own version. "I really took about two and a half years to develop what I really think is the absolute best daytime moisturizer you're ever going to use."
To fit that bill it meets two important criteria: It's light enough to wear under makeup and has SPF 27, he added. (Although a photo he posted of the packaging says SPF 25, so TBD on that detail.)
The products will join two existing products in the Hangover line: the Hangover Replenishing Face Primer (a silicon-free fan favorite) and the Hangover 3-In-1 Replenishing Primer & Setting Spray. Both are formulated with coconut water for hydration, giving them more skin-care benefits than the average makeup product. (They're meant to soothe a skin hangover, which is a real thing, BTW.)
Getting that same coconut water–based hydration *and* sun protection all in one bottle-even on days when you want to go makeup free-is particularly exciting for lovers of the existing line. (On that note, here's what order you should be applying your skin-care products for the best results.)
No word yet about *exactly* when you'll be able to get your hands on the line, but we're confident there will be more skin-care announcements soon. Blandino first revealed that Too Faced would be rolling out Hangover skin care to Hello Giggles last year, telling the pub, "I'm actually tiptoeing in skin care based on our Hangover line. So taking everything you love about our Hangover primer, and taking all of its skin-care-based ingredients, and jumping off and creating some skin-care products." (Note: "products", plural!) For now, Blandino teased in his story that there's "more to come," so stay tuned.
