Update Your Look in 4 Steps
Need a quick, easy way to freshen up your face for the season ahead? Try this four-step process from New York-based makeup artist Pat McGrath.
1. Use an eyeshadow brush to sweep shadow from lashline to crease. Try Prescriptives Colorscope Eye Color in Navy, Aubergine or Plum Smoke ($16 each; prescriptives.com); or Stila Eye Shadow in Azur, Slate or Cassis ($12 each; stila.com).
2. Add a second layer of the same shadow along creases and outer eye corners.
3. Dampen the brush with water, wipe off excess liquid, then dip into powder to collect color. Outline your lower and upper lashlines (again with the same hue), then smudge outward slightly.
4. Slick-on berry colored lipstick; tissue-blot for a muted look. Try Max Factor Colour Perfection Lipstick in Raisin ($7; at drugstores); or Good Skin Cream Color Lipstick in Crushed Berry ($12; kohls.com).
