This Woman Is Using Glitter to Remind Everyone That Stretch Marks Are Beautiful

Sara Shakeel is known for creating captivating works of art that celebrate the female body in all its perfectly imperfect forms. I have never felt so powerful & liberated and so fucking proud of mystretch marks in my entire life !!! From where I come from & live , To be on the chubby side or to even talk about stretchmarks is not something one is proud of, i have seen my stretch marks grow from the day i started putting on weight, I'd be honest even before uploading it I was thinking why would anyone be interested in my concept of stretch marks turned into glitter or crystals!!! My god I was so wrong! Amazing people and women are already doing such an amazing job with representing these stripes and cellulite!!! Thank you for a beautiful response everyone!!!! Sara is photoshopping gold glitter, a blue galaxy, and shiny crystals on to her stretch marks to encourage people to embrace their own imperfections.

"I have never felt so powerful & liberated and so f**king proud of my stretch marks in my entire life," she wrote alongside one of her creations. "From where I come from, to be on the chubby side or to even talk about stretch marks is not something one is proud of."

"I have seen my stretch marks grow from the day I started putting on weight," she said. "[I'll] be honest even before uploading [them] I was thinking [about] why [anyone would] be interested in my concept of [turning] stretch marks into glitter or crystals. My God, I was so wrong! Women are already doing such an amazing job representing these stripes and cellulite."

"Support and love yourself for whoever you are," she says. "[Because] there is someone out there sharing the same feelings as you are...One [thing's] for sure: You are not alone."
