Jackson Hole, Wyoming
If the scenery during the descent into Jackson Hole's airport doesn't zap the stress right out of you, the backdrop for the Hotel Terra will: panoramic mountain views everywhere you look—dotted with the occasional moose or elk, of course. The 132-room hotel, which is certified eco-friendly, boasts fireplaces (even summer nights in Jackson Hole can be chilly!) and terraces in most rooms. But you don't go to Jackson to spend all your time in front of a fire. This is an outdoor-sports mecca. You'll find seven miles of single-track out the hotel's back door, for starters, but there are dozens of other mountain- and road-biking trails in the area, not to mention hiking paths, climbing routes, white-water kayaking and rafting, and more. The concierge can provide maps and set up tours for you; Jackson Treehouse, downstairs at the hotel, rents cruiser bikes ($35 per day). Post-workout, make a beeline for the rooftop Chill Spa and the couples suite that's decked out with a huge Jacuzzi tub, a fireplace, and more of those mesmerizing views ($270 for a 60-minute couples massage). Then, refuel—and wine taste—at Il Villaggio Osteria, the hotel's restaurant, which is also popular with locals (always a good sign).
Details: Rooms from $189. The two-night honeymoon rate gets you champagne upon arrival, two Aprés Adventure spa packages—which include a scrub, body mask, and deep-tissue massage—and more (from $690 per couple; hotelterrajacksonhole.com).
