Britney Spears Proves She's Still the Queen of Denim In This New Kenzo Campaign
Who else could rock these lace-up denim boots?
When it comes to athleisure, Kenzo's sweatshirts are nothing short of iconic. They're basically the high-fashion equivalent to Nike Roshes, Calvin Klein sports bras, and Adidas track pants. That is, most athleisure lovers either have or want one in their closet. In a nod to its own past and present status, Kenzo dropped a new collection with an underlying "Icons" theme and appropriately cast one of the biggest pop legends of our time to star in its campaign: Britney Spears. In fitting with the theme, the Memento N°2 collection is heavy on Kenzo motifs. The collection is a combination of old and new Kenzo, according to Humberto Leon, a creative director for the brand with Carol Lim. "Memento is really based on archival and Carol and I are taking the archive and twisting it into modern times," Leon said in a press release. Pieces are emblazoned with Kenzo's classic tiger and a print from "The Great Wave off Kanagawa," which are "very much a part of the history of the brand," he said in the release. Memento N°2 was inspired by the runway debut of Kenzo Jeans in 1986-and if you're not into logos, you might be into the line's more nondescript denim pieces. And yes, Britney will forever be the queen of denim.
