Your Cycling Shades Are Officially Chic, According to Paris Fashion Week
Stella McCartney sent sunglasses down the runway, and they might look familiar to athletes.
Good news, cyclists: Your favorite sunglasses are now considered high-fashion, at least if Stella McCartney has anything to say about it.
For her spring 2018 collection at Paris Fashion Week, McCartney threw a curveball down the runway. Along with '80s-inspired eveningwear (think big shoulders and bold colors), chic jumpsuits, and acid wash denim, models wore a range of sporty shades, reports The Cut.
Look familiar? While a lot of designers have been putting their own spin on athletic wear, McCartney showed models rocking the same shades you'd rock during a triathlon. And we're here for it.
In case you still have any doubt that sportswear is cool, just look at almost any paparazzi shot of models like Bella Hadid or Kendall Jenner. But McCartney's latest collection shows that even the most functional items in your athletic bag can be dressed up too-without splurging on extra pieces. This isn't the first time a major designer has shown a fashion week collection that included looks that literally could have been pulled out of your gym bag. This spring, Giambattista Valli paired couture heels and an ornate collection of what could be described as "going out tops" with plain old Nike leggings, proving that yes, you really can wear them anywhere.
So next time you want to hit up the fancy brunch place straight after the gym, strut in like you just stepped off the runway. You very well could have.
