A great dancer was sent home but we are in for a treat at finals!

Last night's Dancing With the Stars semifinal elimination left me with mixed feelings. Things started strong but took a turn for the worst. Luckily, there was a silver lining.

At the top of the show, Shawn Johnson and Derek Hough were brought on stage to find out their fate, and almost right away we learned that the pair with a near-perfect 59 was safe. No surprise there since Monday night Bruno Tonioli went as far as to say, "Is there anything you can't do? I don't know."

Next up, Apolo Anton Ohno and partner Karina Smirnoff faced off with Melissa Rycroft and Tony Dovolani. All season Ohno seemed to want this more than anyone else, and he was chosen by the judges to perform last night's rumba as the final encore performance of the season. But just the night before, Carrie Ann Inaba named Rycroft "Magnificent Melissa."

The judges chose to say good-bye to Ohno, causing Smirnoff to cry as she watched their season highlights, including her infamous fall. Ohno left by saying, "[Dancing With the Stars] forces you to become more confident and stronger. It's been a blessing."

I usually don't comment on the Macy Star's of Dance performances or the singers brought in to perform on elimination nights, but Paula Abdul's medley is worth mentioning! Did anyone else find that to be the strangest DWTS performance ever? From the dancers creeping around the singer as she laid on the floor to the animated cat (I know it's a throwback to her 1991 Grammy Award-winning video for "Opposites Attract"-but still bizarre)! And just when you thought it couldn't get any weirder, a video-recorded Paula, and other dancers, appeared on a screen dancing with real-life Abdul. A larger-than-life digital Maxim fixed his brows, and a rhinoceros ran across the stage chased by little dogs. If you missed it, check out the video below.

And back to the competition: Kelly Monaco and Val Chmerkovskiy-who have been all over the scoreboard this season-were brought on stage with Emmitt Smith and Cheryl Burke, who started at the top on week one and found themselves on the bottom this week. After Smith was eliminated from the competition, host Tom Bergeron said, "This show has lost a good chunk of charisma." Smith said it's been six years since his first time on the show and he's 43-years-old now and proud of himself. So are we Emmitt, but it was time to go.

Next week in Dancing With the Stars finals, we will see three performances, one being the much-anticipated "super-sized freestyle," as well as the celebrity's favorite performance.

I was very disappointed to see Ohno go. I actually yelled "I'm so sad" at the TV when it happened. But I did mention a silver lining. I'm thrilled to see three women going to the finals. In 15 seasons of DWTS, six women have won while eight men have taken home the mirror ball trophy. Next week is a chance for the ladies to level off the playing field a bit. And on the All Stars season no less. Guess the best of the best is a woman!

Who do you think will win Dancing With the Stars season 15? I expect Monaco to finish third but truly believe it will come down to Monday night's performances to determine who takes home the trophy. Tell me what you think in the comments below or tweet us at @Shape_Magazine.

It's been a year since my husband practically threw me away like GARBAGE for being too fat and disgusting, as he called me.And that’s when I decided I’d had enough… No matter what it took I was going to look great! The first thing I wanted to do was to get rid of cellulite. After much trial and error, I finally found a program that taught me the correct body movements to stimulate all 90 muscles of my lower body and the right way to optimize my hormones through nutrient balance. The end result is astonishing. Cellulite is gone. The firmness and tightness of my body is something I've never felt before.I feel proud of myself. And so can you...
