Health by the Numbers
Before I started this Weight Loss Diary journey, my cholesterol was borderline high at 209 mg/dL (under 200 is desirable). But after 10 months of eating well and exercising regularly, my numbers have improved dramatically: My total cholesterol is now a 177 mg/dL; my HDL ("good" cholesterol) is 50 and my LDL ("bad" cholesterol) is 105. The best part is that making healthy lifestyle changes-rather than taking medication-is responsible for this positive downturn.
