Plan Out the Week Ahead

Spelling out everything you have to accomplish will not only ensure that you don't forget something but will also allow you to plan, with a fresh perspective, how to tackle everything. This goes for everything from appointments and errands to chores and meals.

But Don't Do Actual Work

Planning for the week ahead is one thing, but try your hardest not to do actual office work over the weekend. Saturdays and Sundays should be about relaxing and recharging, not firing off emails and burning yourself out before Monday even starts.


Do Something Meaningful

This should be something that fulfills you in one way or another, be it taking a yoga class, meditating, going for a long walk or volunteering at an animal shelter. These activities allow you time to reflect and make you feel like you're doing something good, whether for yourself or others. Plus, who doesn't want to spend their day playing with cute puppies?


Get a Good Night's Sleep

When we think about our most stressful days, they're often preceded by a crappy night's sleep. Getting enough shut-eye allows you to feel alert and energized, ready to tackle anything the coming week throws at you.

Don't Drink on Sunday Night

Going off of the sleep point, it might be beneficial to think twice about Sunday Fundays. In moderation, a little day drinking is fine, of course, but make sure not to overdo it. Mondays are bad enough without the added misery of facing them hungover. So maybe stick to a mimosa or two at brunch before switching to something more virtuous as the day goes on.
