Kim Kardashian Reaches Peak IDGAF In a Thong Bikini

While on a girls' trip to Tulum to celebrate sis Kourtney's birthday, paparazzi photographed Kim Kardashian, who was in a revealing (read: standard) bikini that showed off her butt. As bikinis tend to do.

We know. This isn't news. We've seen Kim's famous butt what, like, a thousand times? If you follow her on any of her social media accounts you know that mirror pics in little to no clothing are a pretty regular occurrence. In fact, she posted a pic of herself in the same vintage Dior bikini on her own Snapchat.

The difference was that this time it wasn't highly curated, edited, filtered, and airbrushed photos we normally see of Kim on her Instagram or Snapchat. This time, her butt looked like, well, a butt. With real live cellulite. (Gasp!)

Some reacted positively to the rare candid photo of Kim's butt. But of course, as is expected in the world we live in, Internet trolls had a body-shaming field day. Because apparently, her butt is just fine when presented in an overtly sexual way: slathered with oil on the cover of Paper magazine or perfectly posed for a belfie in a white one-piece, but not when seen in its natural, un-retouched, un-posed form.

Kim seemed to address the body shaming with a sense of humor in this post, part of a series of tweets updating followers her on her Mexico adventures:

She followed up with a Twitter video of herself enjoying an Oreo milkshake where she referred to herself as a "little piggie" and took what we can assume was a playful swipe at her hairstylist and friend Jen Atkin who "fat shamed" her for the shake.

But just how much does she not care what anyone thinks about her cellulite? Well, she followed up her first act with a thong bikini, further flaunting her butt on the beach in all its unfiltered glory for any paparazzi (aka all the paparazzi) who cared to see.

Whether you like Kim or not, or think her butt is fake or not, at the end of the day, girl is human just like the rest of us. And just like 90 percent of women, she has cellulite.

In fact, she basically said exactly this, in our June 2010 issue. "I have cellulite, just like almost every other woman on the planet. And just because I feel secure with my body doesn't mean I think cellulite is cute!" she said. "It will always be an issue for me. So let's just say it's a work in progress!" she added.

In the same interview, oddly enough, she talked about learning to become confident with her curves, and about coming to terms with "unflattering" bikini photos of her that were published in a tabloid. "Yeah, it bothered me initially, but I told myself that everyone, especially women with curves, has issues just like mine," she says.

So yeah, seven years and two kids later, it's understandable that Kim's working through body issues just like the rest of us. Just like she's openly discussed her struggles with psoriasisstretch marks, having a third baby, losing the pregnancy weight, anxiety, or even that chilling Paris robbery experience, it's a topic we expect will probably come up at some point or another on KUWTK.

But whether Kim speaks out about the cellulite (again) or not, that IDGAF thong bikini move really says it all: Don't let anyone tell you that you can't be curvy, confident, and have cellulite all at the same time.

As a fellow woman and proud owner of a butt with cellulite, I for one, appreciated the reminder.
