Whether you're in need of adaptogens or activewear, you can look to Latinx-owned brands to update any area of your wellness routine. There's never a bad time to discover new brands in addition to those you already know and love.

And there's no time like the present to support those brands, since the pandemic has taken a significant toll on Latinx businesses. According to a 2020 survey of more than 200 Latinx-owned businesses conducted by the Stanford Latino Entrepreneurship Initiative, 86 percent said that the pandemic negatively impacted their business, whether by losing revenue or by forcing employee layoffs. Luckily, some businesses have been able to reopen or stay afloat through e-commerce sales. In 2020, online shopping surged drastically during the pandemic, equating to about a 42 percent increase compared to 2019, according to the Adobe Digital Economy Index.

So, if you're planning to treat yourself, you might as well help bring Latinx voices to the forefront by showing loyalty to their businesses. This Mexican American family-owned brand started after co-founder Veronica Garza was in search of grain-free options for her favorite typical Mexican recipes. After experimenting in her Laredo, Texas kitchen, Garza found an alternative to grain tortillas. Turns out, almond flour was the key. Whether you follow several fitfluencers or none at all, odds are you've heard the name Massy Arias — and for good reason. So what do these powerful products look like, exactly? Xula offers a selection of organically grown, herbal-based tinctures and balms featuring CBD and other cannabinoids harvested at their women-led, Southern Oregon-based farm.
