Infidelity Survey: What Cheating Looks Like
What Cheating Looks Like
Infidelity is a topic that's guaranteed to rile people up. But we wanted to have that conversation. We wanted to know why people in relationships cheat, but also how they cheat. Does email and texting make it easier to stray or harder? (Read more about The New Age of Infidelity.) And what about the other side of the story—the partners? Would you stay if you found out your significant other was being unfaithful? How would you move on? So we teamed up with MensFitness.com on a survey about infidelity, and polled nearly 2500 readers.
Your responses were (mostly) brutally honest. More than half of you admit to cheating, and almost that many cop to snooping through your partner’s texts or emails when you’ve suspected infidelity. Even more: A third of you say you’d totally cheat—if you thought you’d get away with it. Check out the complete survey results below. (Plus, more Scary Facts About Cheating You Never Knew.)
(Note: Not everyone answered all the questions, which accounts for some slight discrepancies in the percentages. All responses have been rounded to the nearest whole number.)
