Find out which sex position one study finds to be the most dangerous for men
Bummer: One of your go-to positions in bed—having sex with you on top—causes the most injuries to your guy's jewels, says a study published in the journal of Advances of Urology.
In fact, researchers found that the woman on top position was responsible for 50 percent of male penile injuries. (Here, How to Get More Pleasure Out of Common Sex Positions.) Why? "When a woman is on top, she usually controls the movement with her entire body weight, landing on the erect penis," they say. If you land wrong, while it may not hurt you at all, it could injure him.
The second most harmful position? Doggy style, which was responsible for 28.6 percent of injuries.
The study was small: It only looked at “44 suspicious cases”—so don't ditch the satisfying stances just yet. Who doesn't like to be on top and in control? And doggy style is one of men's favorite positions!
Our solution for pleasure sans the pain: Tweak your technique. Instead of simply sitting on top of him, get on your knees while bending forward so you’re leaning toward his face. It'll take some of the weight off your landing. It'll also “help his penis hit your G spot while allowing you to angle your clit on his shaft as you use your arms to hold onto him for balance,” says Patricia Taylor, Ph.D., sex educator and author of Expanded Orgasm: Soar to Ecstasy at Your Lover's Every Touch. Start off slow and increase the speed.
And when he's behind? Tell him to take his time and not go so fast that he might torque wrong.
