No luck in the dating game? Good news: A simple career change may be all you need to up your odds of finding love. Well, at least according to Tinder.
The king of the dating apps (love it or hate it, you've gotta admit that Tinder rules the online dating world) knows a thing or two about what people are into. All those swipes add up to a lot of interesting dating data. (BTW, we have 7 Tips for Online Dating.)
The app has been downloaded over 100 million times and recently added occupation to the millions of profiles. So in a recently released report, Tinder took a look at the job titles that get the most swipes right (which is how you express initial interest, for anyone who hasn't at least snagged a peek at their friend's account after a couple drinks). And the results seem straight out of some textbook dating fantasies.
For starters, the hottest job for women is fitness-related: Physical therapists received the most interest on the app, which makes perfect sense when you think about it from the mind of a dude. Who doesn't want a lady schooled in how to work the body? (Here are 5 Things You Should Know Before Getting a Sports Massage.) Also, on the list for women: interior designer, founder/entrepreneur, PR professional, and teacher.
But never fear, Tinder also released the top jobs for men, and those are actually even more fantasy-worthy. Topping the list? Pilot (because, duh), founder/entrepreneur (since someone who takes initiative is universally sexy), firefighter (again, duh), doctor, and radio/TV personality.
Now, obviously no one is going to change their careers for the sake of Tinder (we hope!), but if there's one thing you can take away from this list it's that being healthy and badass is attractive.
