Apple and Pear Crisp with Oat Crumble Topping


For filling:

  • 1 bartlett pear, diced
  • 1 Granny Smith apple, diced
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

For topping:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1/4 cup whole-wheat flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 pinch nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons coconut oil


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together pears, apples, maple syrup, and lemon juice. Place fruit filling in two 6-ounce ramekins.
  3. In a separate bowl mix together topping ingredients until well blended. (Topping should be moist and crumbly.) Sprinkle mixture on top of filling. Bake for 20 minutes or until golden brown. Serve warm or cold.
