Pan con Tomate (Tomato Bread)


  • 4 slices bread, toasted
  • 1 clove garlic (optional), cut in half
  • 2 red heirloom tomatoes, cut in half crosswise
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch olive oil


  1. Rub bread with cut side of garlic, then rub with tomato, squeezing gently. Sprinkle with salt and drizzle with olive oil. (If you wish, add thinly sliced Spanish cheese, chorizo, or ham.)
